We are extremely grateful to everyone who has helped us raise over £50,000 for the NSPCC over the past 2 years. Many of the participating teams came up with creative and inspiring fundraising ideas in order to raise money and surpass the target. Some of the highlights over the years have included;

  • Last year it was Chain Reaction Cycle's goal to raise £4000 and to do this they held a number of fundraising events. Much to enjoyment of their staff they organised an office FIFA fundraising games night, in which the winner received the coveted CRC cup. The team also organised a bake sale for CRC and the other businesses in the area.

  • As well as holding a bake sale, TotalMobile thought of something a little bit different and held a ‘Dare a Director’ day which saw the likes of Sales Director Ronnie Geddis dared to complete a number of challenges - memorably providing a helping hand on the Game of Thrones set – Jon Snow would be proud!

The benchmark has indeed been raised high but we are sure 2018 will see a host of new inspiring fundraising challenges. If you need some inspiration please visit the NSPCC fundraising site via the following link: NSPCC fundraising

A huge thanks to all those who contributed generously to the Just Giving donations page and with so many kind beneficiaries selecting the Gift Aid option the NSPCC were able to receive an additional 25% from the Inland Revenue at no extra cost.

Gift Aid allows UK charities to claim back the basic rate tax already paid on donations by the donor. This means the NSPCC can claim back from the government on your behalf 25p for every £1 donated, boosting the value of the donation by a quarter.

If you know someone who would love to be involved, but who isn't too keen on the cycle, why not suggest volunteering on the day? Events are only possible because of the support of volunteers.

To make the event successful, we need volunteers to:

  • Meet and greet
  • Put up signage along the route
  • Observe along the route – keeping our cyclists safe and pointing them in the right direction
  • Cheer on the cyclists!
  • Help with water/banana distribution!

If there is anything else you are unsure of or need to ask, don't hesitate to contact a member of the NSPCC Fundraising Team on 028 9035 1135 or email at and the team will do their best to help.
